The One Piece of Clothing I Can’t Live Without

May 2, 2018

If there is one piece of clothing that I can’t live without it is a black maxi dress.  And, I definitely can’t travel without it.  You can use it for everything: pair it with a jacket, sequin or denim, and it looks like a million bucks.  A great jersey maxi dress can easily be hand-washed while you travel and you don’t have to worry about spills because they never show.  I wore my maxi dress across Europe with my daughter and it was a dream.  I even used it for the plane because I could tuck my feet up under me to sleep (thus the hand-washing).  I wore it with a leather jacket when it was chilly during the day and with a wrap for evening.  C’est Magnifique!

I like pieces that I can get lots of different uses out of and this is it.  Amazon has one just like the one I am wearing in the photo and it even has pockets.  It’s perfect and you can’t beat the price.  I could sleep in it if I had to.  I use my black maxi dress so much that I also have one that is off the shoulder with a ruffle, for hot summer evenings, and I have a sleeveless maxi dress as well.  My arms are not for public consumption and I don’t want to frighten young children so that one I wear with a jacket or with another short sleeve t-shirt underneath.  Options, options, options.

For the price of these on Amazon, I am thinking that a navy maxi might be just the thing for Summer Holidays like Memorial Day and July Fourth.  Or think of a wine red maxi with big silver jewelry, maybe with some turquoise mixed in.  You will be the bell of the ball.   And I found another style here that is super forgiving so I ordered it in an army green, a color that I find very flattering on almost everyone.

Please tell me about the must-have in your closet.

If You’ve Got It, Flaunt It This Holiday Season

December 6, 2017

No matter what size or age, many women have beautiful legs and cover them up.  This holiday season, go for it!  Get those legs out on display.  This dress by Wai Ming ($374.00) not only gives you a chance to display those pretty legs but has small cut-outs at the shoulder as well.   I love a cold shoulder, but I often feel like my arm looks like a ham hock in that look.  If the cut-out is too low, it is just too much flesh.  Not so with this look.   So, when you are looking at cold-shoulder items for your wardrobe, make sure to try them on because they vary and may not be right for your arms.  Use this great Wai Ming dress as a guide.  Thread earrings ($48.00) and Calleen Cordero shoes ($675.00).  https://shopthreadonline.com/
